L-Gholja tas-Salib
This is not a scene from Sao Paolo in Brazil (!).  It is Gozo's own Christ on a mount in Marsalforn (L-Gholja tas-Salib). It is thought that Gozo, which is more fertile than the mainland, was once a volcanic island.  I'm not quite sure how this fact is related to this p
icture, but the comment somehow cropped up ...

Ggantija Temples, Xaghra
Me at Ggantija Temples. Unfortunately this photo doesn't show much of the ancient prehistoric ruins, but I'll have some more pictures taken and post them on this page ...

The Azure Window
This photo was taken in front of one of Gozo's most popular panoramas - the Azure Window.  This is a great place for diving.  My friends in the photo are from left William, James and Marica.  I am the first on the right.

Windmill at Xaghra
This windmill was renovated and converted into a folklore museum, showing the way of life of Gozitan peasants in the not-so-distant past.  This is a scene from the actual tower, Xaghra church in the background.  I couldn't open the window here - and it does require some cleaning ...

Balcony at Xaghra
I spotted this stone balcony at Xaghra.  Probably early twentieth century, but still worth taking a photograph of.  I really should consider dedicating a page to typical Maltese (and Gozitan) balconies.

Ninu's Cave, Xaghra
Some 100 years ago, Ninu, a Xaghra farmer, started to dig a well when he found this natural cavern, complete with stalactites and stalagmites.  The family keep their house open to visitors who want to descend the few steps down into Ninu's Cave.
