Scenes from Mdina
Index Just a few scenes from Mdina ... I'll have to take some more!

The Metropolitan Cathedral
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Mdina. This photo was taken from the Fontanella Tea Gardens, which enjoys panoramic views of the island.  The Cathedral is a favourite venue for weddings ...

Il-Muzew tal-Katidral
The facade of the Museum of the Cathedral at Mdina.  It's an ornate limestone facade - which has beautifully withstood time.  The Museum houses a lovely collection of various works of art ...

The Bastions
The bastions of Mdina - built to withstand enemy attack, but still having some aesthetically pleasant features ... such as the wooden balcony.  This photo was taken from the Xara Palace Hotel - Malta's unique Relais Chateaux hotel.

A street corner
Taken from the Tea Gardens, I like this photo mainly because of the religious touch given to the street corner - a stone statue of Christ (the stone has eroded).

Narrow street
One of the many narrow streets of Mdina.  These houses may look small from the outside, but most will turn out to be fairly large.  These properties are hardly ever on the market ... I couldn't afford one of course!

Tomb at Manikata
This is actually a Roman/Punic tomb at Manikata (which is not in Mdina). This particular tomb would have been the burial place for three persons.  Note the three headrests on the right picture ...
