I'm not quite sure whether this was quite the response I expected ... But there you are: The vast majority of the respondents seem to love receiving birthday cards and they seem to see no harm in someone keeping their date of birth on file. In fact I would have to agree that the "personal" value of a date of birth is not perceived to be as important as other details of a more personal nature. I would have thought that a higher number of respondents would "interpret" a birthday card sent from someone who they don't really know as a simple marketing ploy ... I'm not surprised really ... We still prefer our own! In fact no more than 12% consider this as technology being used effectively and only 14% are indifferent to change. Interestingly enough, few (just 14%) find the idea so disgusting they simply will not return to the hotel. The vast majority simply show their preference for their own like ... |
